This technique, developed and demostrated in a doctoral thesis at the University of La Rioja, is more effective, durable and ecological that current disinfection methods, based on chemical compounds. So far, it has reduce biofilm formation by 50-85% from four of the most common bacteria (Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Listeria monocytogenes, Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus) on different surfaces and environments (stainless steel and 3D printed polymers).
